Circa 1892 Mr. George D. Warthen had the stick building at the 129 West Haynes Street Address across from the Courthouse torn down to build a brick building that would become his living quarters. George D. Warthen, a well known Businessman, was one of the original partners that started the Geo. D. Warthen Bank, originally in the location where Karol’s of Sandersville is today. The 129 address that was Mr. Warthen’s living quarters is now the location of our gift shop, Geo.’s Quarters. Our building is a beautiful display of an historic residence within a gift shop. When strolling the sidewalk of West Haynes Street one will find themself in awe of this buildings beautiful original wood doors which open to reveal gorgeous re-finished wood floors and the sunburst stained glass interior doors retrieved from a hotel in Savannah, Georgia.

The hall features a restored brick wall parallel to two wonderfully redone transoms that give our store a Savannah or Charleston feel. Many visitors state that our shop looks like one of the many well known locations of the two Historic towns. The residence feel of our shop makes it unique to gift shops as we are able to display our gifts exclusively in a historic home setting giving a customer a warmer feel for the products.
